canuck "kills" ranger
Jagr was digging for the puck along the boards in the Czech end when Ruutu came across the ice from the far edge of the left circle, his left elbow up and slammed Jagr into the boards.
Jagr, of the New York Rangers, lay face down for several minutes, a pool of blood collecting on the ice before being helped to the locker room with 7:03 gone in the second period.
Jagr appeared to be wearing a thin, old-style helmet that he wore earlier in his NHL career -- a style the league no longer permits because of the amount of protection provided.
Immediately after Ruutu delivered his hit, the Czechs' Filip Kuba shoved Ruutu and Martin Straka -- a Rangers teammate of Jagr -- jumped on Ruutu and pushed him to the ice. Ruutu, of the Vancouver Canucks, was given a game misconduct and Straka drew two 2-minute penalties for roughing.
Jagr was wobbly as he was assisted to the Czech locker room and was not expected to return to the game. His status for Sunday's game against Italy was uncertain, though the world champion Czechs would be favored to win easily even without him.
Jagr, who starred on the Czechs' 1998 Olympic gold medal team, leads all NHL scorers with 40 goals and 48 assists for 88 points, seven more than the Sharks' Joe Thornton. Jagr had two goals and an assist in the Czechs' first two Olympic games.
story Espn.com and pic from svt.se where they have the video but you can't watch it outside of europe. dirty fuckers
GO RUUTU that's my instigator!!!! Jagr's a punk and an idiot for wearing an old style non-protective helmet. yeah its the olympics and people should be playing [s]clean[/s] olympic hockey but, it's jarko "dirtiest player in europe" ruutu. The reason he's a fan favorite is he hits and hits big, and makes people mad and gets them to take penulties. Granted it back fired here and he and straka got penulties, and if finnish and czechs play each other in the medal round its gonna be a barn burner!

I fucking hate the RIAA
February 15, 2006
It is no secret that the entertainment oligopolists are not happy about space-shifting and format-shifting. But surely ripping your own CDs to your own iPod passes muster, right? In fact, didn't they admit as much in front of the Supreme Court during the MGM v. Grokster argument last year?
Apparently not.
As part of the on-going DMCA rule-making proceedings, the RIAA and other copyright industry associations submitted a filing that included this gem as part of their argument that space-shifting and format-shifting do not count as noninfringing uses, even when you are talking about making copies of your own CDs:
"Nor does the fact that permission to make a copy in particular circumstances is often or even routinely granted, necessarily establish that the copying is a fair use when the copyright owner withholds that authorization. In this regard, the statement attributed to counsel for copyright owners in the MGM v. Grokster case is simply a statement about authorization, not about fair use."
For those who may not remember, here's what Don Verrilli said to the Supreme Court last year:
"The record companies, my clients, have said, for some time now, and it's been on their website for some time now, that it's perfectly lawful to take a CD that you've purchased, upload it onto your computer, put it onto your iPod."
If I understand what the RIAA is saying, "perfectly lawful" means "lawful until we change our mind." So your ability to continue to make copies of your own CDs on your own iPod is entirely a matter of their sufferance. What about all the indie label CDs? Do you have to ask each of them for permission before ripping your CDs? And what about all the major label artists who control their own copyrights? Do we all need to ask them, as well?
P.S.: The same filing also had this to say: "Similarly, creating a back-up copy of a music CD is not a non-infringing use...."

man i love warren ellis
going to draw pictures of Batman
beating up Osama Bin Laden. 9/11
really drove that poor guy out of
his mind. Amused to note that it
made mainstream news everywhere.
Doesn't matter if the book's half as
brain-damaged as it sounds, it'll
sell a million copies.
According to links I was sent
yesterday, though, this isn't what's
set the message boards alight. Oh
no. Brian Bendis has written an issue
of a comic called THE NEW AVENGERS
wherein a group of Canadian
superheroes called Alpha Flight all
get killed. Once again, that little
bald guy with the funny eye has
raped the childhoods of forty-year-
olds who should know better
everywhere. And he wore a helmet
with a fin on top when he did it.
Over at DC, grim fin-headed Dan
Didio is feeding those same
childhoods into a woodchipper,
massively overheating the superhero
market -- but he gets away with it
because all those readers know
there's a big smack of the Reset
Button to come. It's interesting to
watch Marvel and DC's different
strategies for growing the market
for their superhero comics. Marvel
wants new readers. DC wants the
old readers back. Neither is going
to work effectively without more
comics stores.

I can finally retire my tired old vhs copy taped from tv.
I'm sad that it didn't do well in the box office because lynch was under contract to make a trilogy and that would have been fuckin fantatstic. All the work and attention to detail put into this movie is great. Some people don't like it. That's fine. Some people like the made for tv version of the shining too, because it's more faithful to the book. is it better fuck no.
i enjoy seeing lynch's vision of what the dune universe looks like. The casting in this movie is one of the best things in the movie. Max Von Sydow as Liet Kiens was kick ass! and Patrick Stewart as Gurney Hallek was inspired does he have the inkvine scar on his cheek? nope, but he's still way better than that duchebag on the tv version. Dean Stockwell as Wellington Yeuh, awesome.
Don't get me wrong i enjoyed the tv version too, but not as much as this one. I am a huge dune dork and i can't wait until something else comes out. I hope they make god-emporer next that would kick ass seeing leto II as a shai-hulud.

These people are in their late sixties and 80's. They give a-fucking-mazing performances. Marianne hasn't seen johann in twenty years and shows up one day and they start right back in where they began. It's fucking amazingly depressing and thought provoking it took me weeks to get in the right mood to watch it. Just like scenes from a marrige only that was 6 hours long.
It's hard to recommend a movie like this. It's a difficult movie. It's 90% dialog with 4 different people in three different settings.
One of the best parts of this dvd is the making of, which is absofuckinglutely amazing. It's fantastic to see bergman at work. The man is 84 years old and he knows exactly what he wants from everyone on crew. No one dares even give him a dirty look or any kind of 'tude whatsoever when he gives these people direction. Or to take a zipper off of some clothing, or he wants the same shirt a different shade of burgendy. He doesn't do it like a hollywood asshole either. There is no malice in his tone, no voice raised, no implied threat, he simply says change it, or do it this way, everyone knows that what he wants is for the best. That he has a bigger vision and that he absolutely knows what he's doing.
Oh have you seen virgin spring? Seventh seal? Wild strawberries? Fanny and Alexander? Scenes from a Marriage?
For fucks sake he knows what he's doing and this movie stands as a testament to that.
An incredible swan song for an incredible career.

"You see, you can spend weeks -- and we did; two, in fact -- analyzing and dissecting matchups and giving each team the edge in certain areas and trying to figure out how the game is going to play out, but the two things you can't account for are turnovers and officials. The latter were the X-factor Sunday. Edge: Steelers."
"Consider: The Seahawks lost 161 yards to penalties when you combine the penalty yards (70) and the plays the flags wiped out (91). By halftime alone, when it trailed 7-3, Seattle had had 73 hard-earned yards and a touchdown eliminated."
"Still, that was early, and that one didn't change the game as much as did a holding call against Sean Locklear early in the fourth quarter with Pittsburgh leading 14-10. That one wiped out an 18-yard catch by Stevens that would have taken the ball to the 1. Locklear supposedly held Clark Haggans, so instead of first-and-goal at the 1 and the chance to complete a 98-yard touchdown drive and take a three-point lead, Seattle faced first-and-20 at the 29."
"Three plays later, Ike Taylor picked off a Hasselbeck pass, and Hasselbeck went low to make the tackle on Taylor's return and was called for a 15-yard personal foul for a low block. The Steelers set up shop at their 44. That one right there made no sense."
I went thru the roof at this point i was so fucking pissed.
"By contrast, the Steelers might have gotten a break on Roethlisberger's 1-yard touchdown plunge on third-and-goal in the second quarter. Leavy reviewed the play under the booth's orders, since it occurred inside the two-minute mark, and while still photos of an airborne Roethlisberger showed that the ball might have broken the plane of the goal line, he landed short of it and reached the ball over. It was close. Head linesman Mark Hittner didn't seem so sure of it, hesitating before signaling touchdown.
HE DIDN'T FUCKING SCORE ASS-EYED CUM DUMPSTER REFS!!!
"I don't think he scored," Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren said.
It was that kind of evening for the Seahawks, who represent a town where residents know all too well that when it rains, it pours. If having what seemed like 90 percent of the 68,200 in attendance waving Terrible Towels wasn't enough to make Seattle feel as though it was playing on the road, the officials called it as though the Seahawks actually were."
" It's a real shame when, on the game's biggest stage, the major players aren't players at all. We saw too much of the third team in Super Bowl XL and not enough Seahawks and Steelers."
well said!

Underworld :Evolution
This movie isn't fucking cinema, but it is fucking fun. I was really impressed by the simple fact that it happens like 10 minutes after the first one's over, and you could watch them back to back and it would feel like one big movie. That kicks ass. They explain things that went unexplained in the first one in believable natural ways. Not heavy handed exposition.
My biggest dissapointment with this film was not enough action. Now this sounds dumb and it kinda is but there were no sick ass moves. Like selene shooting the floor in the first one, there was some cool stuff, to be sure but, nothing like the first one. maybe the bar was alittle too high, i dunno.
overall though i did like it and will probably buy it when it comes out because i ma completionistic dork.
on a side note, i think action movie of the fucking year will be ultraviolet, that movie looks so good it hurts, and so does milla jovovich.

dukes of hazard : unrated
The one and only reason i had any interest in seeing this is this movie, two words Jay Chandreskhar. I love broken lizard they are fucking hillarious and Jay doesn't dissapoint in this one. Seriously. It has his fingerprints all over it, and that makes it funny. When they show up as the campus cops it was great. And farve as the crazy guy who "cuts bait and blows shit up" but as i was watching this movie i realized that jay did a really good job directing this movie. It's really above par. Now would i have liked him to make an original movie that was much funnier, yes, will he be able to do that now that he directed this one for the studio? yep. so everyones a winner. more or less. Now don't get me wrong, im not saying this is the best movie ever or anything, or that i would even buy it, but it is entertaining. a good popcorn movie.

I mean the plot isn't that good, but who expects it to be. Is it funny? yes, is it fun? yes! did i laugh out loud? yes!

Its not great but sometimes you just want to see a shootemup movies with super hot chicks in leather for over two hours. and the vampires vs werewolves thing is pretty cool too. I like the new tech and mythology they put forward too. These all add up to make a good fun movie, and i'm looking forwrd to seeing the new one on thursday with jeremy.

I loved super troopers. It is freakin hillarious. So when i heard the guys were making a new movie i was happy. when i heard that it was a spoof of horror movies i was even happier. Canucks 4 Divealanche 3
Oh yeah, we won after melting down in the third. Canucks fucking beat the divealanche. What is up with my team? I am so frustrated, the top line can't produce, thank god for the sedins and carter. defense is muddled at best, they put on good effort for about one and a half periods, i'm almost shocked to say it but i would trade bertuzzi. seriously, for a either a couple solid defensemen, or another scorer, or something, he might just be in a slump or something but for fucks sake, do something.
Heavy Traffic
i have owned this movie for years. I never really watched it. It was quite good. Ralph bakshi really pumped out the movies in the seventies. Which is pretty impressive considering the were all animated and he used all americans making the films. I would be hard pressed to see someone do that these days. Granted he probably payed them in fucking paper and ink, but still. Its cool to see that these movies even exist. They deal with real people problems of the time and era. The make adult cartoons these days too, but that just means pron
Don't get me wrong i like pron as much as the next guy, and bakshi has his share of tits and stuff in his movies, but they are not pruriently presented. What this movie does deal with is a young man coming out of his shell, dealing with racism, spoiler*** he dies because of it, and labor disputes. All of this comes together to make a fairly interesting movie. Not to mention the old bakshi way of splicing real film, animation and music together to make an intersting tapestry. Seeing cartoon characters drive a car with real NY background is pretty cool. and to see the actors that they based the characters at the end of the movie, sort of pantomime an ending was both satisfing and leaves you wanting more. Also seeing the dirty NY of the seventies was pretty cool. It really was the naked city still back then.
this was a good movie, not for kids but for disolusioned people about my age. bakshi was way ahead of his time.

Chronicles of Narnia: L,W, the W
This movie was good. It wasn't great but i enjoyed it quite a bit and am looking forward to the next installment. Since i hadn't read the book sincei was a little kid, i wasn't all nit picky about it and therefore enjoyed it much more than say lord ot the rings. But it wasn't nearly as cool as LOTR. It was kinda milquetoast. Until the end when all the kids in the audience started to cry, and i started to wonder to myself who the fuck is in charge here? Is this a kids movie or braveheart? The battle scenes were cool, but they were no LOTR. That seems to be everyones complaint with the movie. CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien were peers and they did talk alot about the books each other wrote, so you can see some similarities, but Narnia is made for children and adults like myself looking for second helpings of LOTR are pretty much dissapointed like when you put too much water in the OJ. and it tastes ok but it could have been better. But in this case i think its the source material speaking to kids, which is fine make it a kids movie, but leave the freaking braveheart battle scenes out of it.
and ok, if you are going to make a movie with all unknowns. fine, good for you, no problem with that, but when you make all the people and all the vioces newcomers then throw liam nesson as the vioce of Aslan, its kindof distracting.
over all i liked it, enjoyed myself.

I got XM radio for myself for xmas. When you get this you get to listen to it online for free, which is cool. So some people have made third party front end for it, which is even cooler, and it has a tracker, so i can post what im listening to. So under the links section is now a what im listening to link. hmm. if im not listening to anything it says so, and if i am you can refresh the page (F5) and see what's next. anyway thought i might point that out to my devoted reader(s) ;)
I tried it on everypost but it looked stupid because it shows whats playing now, so having that on every link was dumb.
see look ill do it on this one, and everytime you come back itll have what im listening too now.
so let me know what you think of it?
i also put it at the bottom of the blog. I like it there because you can read the whole thing, but it isn't very convienient im gonna try to put it at the top.
ok so i put it at the top and it's the best so far out of all of them, and i think ill take the others off.

Trailer park boys,
Holy shit this is seriously the best TV show ever. I can't get enough of it. I bought seasons 3 and 4 and the xmas special when i was in canada cuz you can't buy it in the states, but you can get it on netflix, if you have netflix rent this show immediately seriously it is sooo damn funny you'll never look at a trailer park the same again.
Dark Shadow,
This show isn't nearly as cool as i remeber it, im glad i rented it. It still has some charm but nothing like what i remember.
Degrassi Jr. High
I was one of the kids that never watched this growing up so i wanted to see what its all aobut, and i can see that when it came out it was probably awesome and mind blowing to the kids watching it, but now its kinda tame and the kids are irrating, and why is wheels called wheels? he's not in a wheel chair...

Les Boys
So i read about this right before i went on vacation, i put it on my netflix, i saw it in BC for like 39.99 at some quebecios bookstore and didn't buy it. I am glad that i didn't because its not that great. its ok, but not that great, who would bet thier bar over a hockey game with a beer league team? so silly. but it was fun to see the sterotypes and fun of hockey. This movie was released on the same day at titanic and beat it in the box office in atlantic canada. Why? because its about atlantic canada. i can understand that. i'm sure glad that i didn't spend 40 buck on it. The basic story is this dude who coaches the team owns a pub, he looses a bunch of money in a card game and the gangster guy to whom he owes the money says double or nothing but over a hockey game with his team "Les boys" So of course the gangster puts together a bunch of goons and the scrapy team les boys has to put it all together to win. Its not a bad movie, but its not great either, i don't really care about 2 and 3, i am curious to see them put it isn't a must.

day 7
today i got up and headed out for my tour of GM Place. It was great and i got a lot of fun pictures. The tour guide was cool she knew a bunch of shit about the place.
i was the only one who showed up for the tour so that was cool. i could ask her all kinds of stupid questions and she was cool. They actually have a brewery inside the stadium and like three resturants. Looks like they took a page from the brothers book. For anyone who is vacationing here i would highly recomend this tour it was alot of fun.
then after that i went home took a nap and now im back at my favorite coffee shop.
Jan 10 2006 Canucks vs. Leafs
wow where to start So I tried to not show up so damn early this time but no such luck, i got there really early and waited outside for the doors to open with about 500 other people. This crowd was roudy. wow. I have never been to a sporting event where the crowd was about 50/50. there were alot of leafs fans in the house and they let themselves be know, go leafs go was almost as loud as go canucks go. but "LEAFS SUCK, LEAFS SUCK" was really loud, way louder than "CAL-GARY SUCKS, CAL-GARY SUCKS" Which i thought was loud. at every chance we yelled leafs suck. the mexican hat dance song , da da da da du du du du da "leafs suck!" it was great. all that and the canucks won. The big line didn't produce, which is what i wanted to see but it was still fun to see ruutu score and burrows score his first in the NHL. What was really amazing was mats sundin. That guy is freakin amazing on skates everytime he got the puck i thought he was gonna score, just the power and poise he posses is crazy.
my seats at this game weren't nearly as good, but it was still awesome to go.
oh and i thought beer at the rose garden was spendy jesus, its 9 dollars for a molson here.

so i stayed up late watching movies last night, i woke up late today and moved my car, then ate lunch at the old spaghetti factory which is about a block away from my hostel.? The more i walk around the more i like where my hostel is.? its great.? I didn't like it much when i got there but it's really grown on me.? so after lunch i hung out at the hostel and now im at the coffee shop.? There's an internet porn queen sitting next to me at the coffee shop, too close to take a pic but i wish i could, she is talking to her buddy about being photographed and being on the 'net. and going to school and how cool she is, it is so sad/awesome.? The dude is just eating it up, and she is loving it.? The whoppers just keep getting bigger and better its hilarious.?

Welcome to the big boys
This story on ESPN this afternoon proves two important points - first, there are plenty of goofball hockey fans on the loose that I never want to meet in person; second, Jose Theodore has a great sense of humour. (I think I would have just clubbed this guy with my stick.)
Man crashes Canadiens' practice with 'nothing to lose'
Associated Press
MONTREAL -- Canadiens goaltender Jose Theodore has stopped a lot of shots in his day, but nothing like this: A stranger in hockey equipment jumped on the ice during practice and shot a puck at him.
"He couldn't beat me," Theodore said. "That's the main thing."
The practice crasher was chased to the side boards by coach Claude Julien, but wouldn't get off the ice until he was pulled away by an arena worker. The intruder called Theodore a "great goalie," adding he didn't score because "I didn't have time."
"I didn't really know what was going on until the guy came on," a grinning Theodore said. "He came at me with his head down so I just wanted to say 'Welcome to the big boys.' I poke-checked him to say, `You have to keep your head up.' When he came back, I thought about going out of the net and not playing into his game, but then I thought he had the [courage] to go on the ice, so I let him have a free shot at me."
day5
sleep, alittle and coffee; alot.? I took a trip to the local bestbuy looking for don cherry #17 but no luck, and TPB season 4 no luck also.? Next door however was the wonderful Canadian Tire, where i found a kick ass WJHC touque.? Score.? Had lunch at wendys french fries are different and better up here, so is the ketchup.? Then back to the hostel for a nap.? Now up and back on the town.
Now i just need to google save on foods and find out where the nearest one is,? and go and get some canucks calandars for 2$ i plan to get 5.? woot, more later.
so i found a close save on foods over the lions gate bridge (which is huge and all reversable lanes) but the ladies working there gave me a i dont know what the fuck your talking about look when i asked if they had any canucks calandars. I said i had heard about it on the radio and they still didn't know anything. shit. so i drove around north vancouver for a minute, then went over to west vancouver where they have a huge mall, i looked around at it for a minute realized all the cool stuff was across the street, crossed the street, they had a sky bridge for cars that crosses this huge street. They have a sony store, cool, an FMV, where i found Don Cherry 17 and TPB season 4 the two dvd's i'd been looking for. W00t! Then i had some crappy expensive sushi, i should have known better than to eat mall sushi. then i drove home, and after i parked my car i went for an ill-advised walk thru gastown at night. But i found a place that sells DONAIRS!!! this was one of my missions here in canada was to have a donair, its kinda like a gyro but with different sauces, and cheese. Its fucking great,
then i went home and ate it, then watched my new movies and went to bed.

twister
oh god i was forced to watch this one night at the hostel and its five times worse than i remember it. And i remember it being really shitty.
1 out 5 taco sauce packets.
day four
so i wake up and go out to breakfast at diamond jims in bellingham. not to shabby, it has to be said that for a place that i have only eaten at twice this place is one of my favorite places for breakfast and whenever i am in bellingham in the morning i will try and eat there. After that i decided to stop at the duty free stop. What a nightmare, there were all these coked up sketchy people buying a shit-ton of booze and smokes, arguing about customs laws with the people that works there. Damn, anyway i bought a bottle of vodka for will because its super cheap, and since there was a 2 for 30$ sale, i thought it was cool to buy two, little do i know that it's only one per person, what a load of shit, so i had to go thru the shitty process of returning it and all that stuff. So will if you're reading this you're only getting the vodka not the gin too.
Then i saw that the Vancouver giants were playing the winterhawks tonight and i thought it would be fun to go over there and watch the game, so i went to root for the home team along with about 3 other people. Boy did we have nothing to cheer about we lost 5-0 and it was embaressing. As soon as i get back to the states i will upload the pics from my phone, Todd Bertuzzi ,Ed Jovanovski, Pat Quinn, Steve Tambalini, and the pres of hockey canada, were all there to drop the puck it was fucking sweet. I hope jovo plays on tuesday but if not at least i got to see him. After that a harrowing drive thru industrial part of town that is alot like the rose quarter part of portland, hard to get around in and all marked by signs posted right at the last minute. Back to the hostel for some cheap food, then over here to the coffee shop that i found that actually has wireless. yeah.
day three
Phew, so i wakeup to the jukebox and stand up and to my suprise my foot doesn't hurt anymore woot, then i take two steps and it hurts worse, shit,? so i hobble downstairs for my free breakfast which is so-so but its free so i can't really complian, i hobble back upstairs and sleep until noon.? Then i go downstairs to see if hockey day in canada is on, it is and ottawa is getting thoughly trounced.? Then a group of Kiaia's start talking to me about hockey, it seems that they have been drinking since open, and are thoughly smashed.? One guy knows alot but the others don't really so i spend alot of time trying to explain icing to them.? after the game someone puts on football, so i go upstairs to watch it with sound in the hostel.?? but someones watching twister so i watch that until they leave then put it on hockey.? i watch that till about four then get ready and head to the train station (my foot still hurts) and ride the train down to the stadium.? But i am really early so the box office isn't even open yet.? i wait for that to open then i wait for the doors to open.? And watch a great game, canucks win in overtime.? They beat calgary for the first time this season.? Its great, lots of powerplays, back and forth woot.?
day two
day two finds me awaking hungry yet sick to my stomach but that is the case from mcCrap. so i decide to press on to bc to feed myself at the first Tim Hortons i find. So i cross the border with some static but not too much. I get to my hostel, " the Cambie" which at first i am disapointed with, but then it starts to grow on me. My disapointment is also with vancouver. You see i had this perfect vision of my hockey mecca and from the second i crossed the border it wasn't that great. It was kinda beatup and skruffy looking, until i made it to beautiful downtown which was everything i dreamed it would be and more. but my hostel was kinda far from that part of town. (Its in the part of town that ladies don't go out in bythemselves. However the bar downstairs does Ringlersesque type of business (this means its packed from about 9-close) and my room is directly above the jukebox, which means i can't sleep evenif i wanted to until it closes ('round 1) and i have to get up at 9 (when it opens) luckily im getting used to it, and naps. The place is cheap, and they even have three pinball games one of which is good. Midevil Madness!!! So i have somewhere to dump all my damn canadien change. So I dump all my gear in my room, which has lockers in it for safekeeping of valuables, but i don't have a lock so I take my HEAVY backpack with me on my travels. ) First stop after checkin was of course GM Place, where i go to Authentix the canucks superstore and buy all the stuff i've been druling over in the cataloge. a hat, some stickers, a carflag yes! next stop FMV (formerly virgin megastore) to get trailer park boys stuff. i get the x-mas specail, season three, and a TPB calander for 50% off and a Canucks calander too!!!, so by this time my poor feet are starting to hurt so i check out this thing called sky train and it turns out there is a stop like three blocks from my hostel, Score! so i jump on the train and ride in style back to the hostel. So this sky train has absolutely no security just like the MAX in portland so you can get on with out paying just have to hope you dont get caught doing it. So i get back to my hosel tired as hell and sweaty from walking around all day, but first i move my car into underground parking ( sugested to prevent breakins) and then i take a nap. I awake to what sounds like a goddamn riot going on downstairs but seconds late my trained ears realize its just a busy bar. so i decide to go down there and get some dinner and check the place out. i hop out of bed to realize that i have seriously fucked up my foot somehow during my big walk. I mean seriously it fucking hurts. This doesnot bode well i think to my self as i hobble downstairs to get a beer and a burger for 5 canadien dollars.(sweet deal).
so after 4-5 labatts and who knows howmany pinball games i decide its time for me to hobble back upstairs and to my shigrin my foot still hurts. my do -it -yourself pain reliver hasn't worked and thats not good, so i go upstairs and watch some tv with some of the hostelers then go to bed.
McFarlane finally pulls his head out of his ass. sorta
So i as i was browsing around the net last night, i checked out spawn.com as i am want to do from time to time to check and see what's up with the new hockey figures and low and behold you can finally buy their fucking toys from them. it only took them like 10 years to figure out that that is what people really wanted to do... what the fuck. anyway i'm glad it finally happened and will probably be being the next series of action figures directly from then rather than off of ebay.
OH DEAR God.
So i finally found somewhere that has wireless and guess where it is. Thats right my ex girlfriends house. Not so bad really but still i look all over BC for fucking somewhere to have wireless but nothing. Thats why there has been no updates.
Day 1 . Get to kasia and jacobs, around 5 oclock on thursday. We hangout have some beers eats some dinner that they made which was really good. (note to self pick up asian sesame dressing at store). We then drank some more, jacob gets pretty damn drunk, and we play this game called munchkin which is pretty sweet (pick this up too, its fun) Then we go to belinghams finest, the 'beav. have a couple pitchers and some corndogs till the frat kids come in, then we head down to the horseshoe were we drink more, kaisa and i play movie trivia on the touchscreen and get first place twice and win free games on it twice. (nice) then we go to a mexican place but there are just about closed ,then we goto some sketchy lookin place called the pita pit but its all whitehated out so we decided to stop at McCrap on the way back. When we get back to kaisa and jacobs they try to inflate an air matress for me with limited sucess due mainly to the fact that they cant find the plug for it. They sugest that they get their old futon from a neighbor at 2am i say no i ll sleep on the floor thats fine, but that leads to a big production too, not really what i had in mind just give me a blanket or something. But i slept like a log thanks to their hard work, im just an impatient bastard.
more to come...

Breakfast on Pluto
So Danni fake me out on this one. At first we were going to see King Kong, but then she said, "oh i really want ot see this other movie, can we see it instead"
It turns out that this movie is ok, if you don't mind watching cillian murphy (the guy from 28 days later), in drag for over two hours, danni loved it, i thought it was ok. What ever the story isn't much like the book the book apparrently is much more depressing and this one was ok.

Le Femme Nikita
Let's just get this out of the way. I love luc besson. He is one of the few people whose movies i will go see no matter how dumb they look because they are always good. from Subway to Unleashed, they are all fantastic. He is in a league of his own. His movies are smart action movies, and not that cheesy hollywood smart-action like say heat, that was a good movie but not compared to Leon: the Professional, or Wasabi, or the first Transporter. or Le Femme Nikita. This was Besson's Break thru movie, people stood up and took notice of the way he blended feelings and action to make a smart kick ass movie. I heard that he is going to start directing again and i can't wait. He has only been writing movies for the last ten or so years so it will be good to see a real besson film again!

Slapshot
No matter how many times i see this movie i always enjoy it. I pick up something new in it. I know who toe blake is now so the references to him are pretty funny. the slapstick stuff never really gets old, but the fact that they made this movie is awesome. Its a tribute to eddie shore and toe blake and old time hockey. I love this movie. and Paul newman is of course awesome as player/coach reggie dunlop. denis lemuix is my favorite character though i think, as the hypocondriac quebecious net-minder.

ps if you ever have the miss fortune of seeing the second one im sorry.

Miracle
i didn't know wether i was going to like this movie or not when it first came out. I've never been to big on USA hockey, i like Sweden more, and Canada much more. However once you start to watch the movie you get into the spirit of it and start to care about the team. It is about hockey and i still like it. I would like to have seen them play for the gold medal. I would have liked to see them play the finns. however its just a minor gripe, the movie is solid over all and I always like Kurt Russell.

Gotcha!
So I remember this movie being good when i was a kid. I enjoyed watching it today, it was just the right mix of crap and good. Anthony edwards is good, the chick is hot, until i relized who she was then she was only kinda hot. Overall the whole paintball thing was just a gimmick, but its a fun one, that makes for an entertaining first part of the movie, the second part is good on its own and its fun to see europe, and get a taste of what it was like when the berlin wall was still up.
