I'm going camping

I am going camping tommorow afternoon, here for a week. so there might not be any updates for a while but there will be pictures and stuff when i get back.

Being There

After watching that movie about peter sellers i wanted to see this movie again. i had watched it once in jr high. eighth or ninth grade, I can't really remember. Anyway it didn't really make that big of an impression on me then but it should have. After seeing how much this movie meant to peter sellers, i wanted to rewatch it. and over all this is a good movie. It's basicly what forest gump ripped off. A simple kind person is mistaken for someone who knows what thier doing, and kinda bumbles around making good, in a not very silly way but in a heartfelt kind of way. peter sellers is very good in this movie.

Warren Ellis on a rampage is a sight to behold

it started out like this...

Is it interesting to anyone else that
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA is now the
only "spaceship show" on the air in
English? (DOCTOR WHO doesn't
count - ship shows have their own
set of tropes, and WHO doesn't fit.)
Almost makes me want to have a
go at another space opera/ship
comic again, see if I can get it right
this time...

then came this response...

Also known as "Warren Ellis' Conversations With The
Living Web," or something equally polite, respectful
and Joi Ito-esque:

The STARGATE shows are not ship shows. You
can tell by, you know, the lack of a fucking spaceship.
Sure, they have them NOW. But the clue remains
in the fucking title.

(That said, those things are the very model of how
to devise a long-running tv show. It's an open-ended
concept. As opposed to, say, LIFE ON MARS --
which ends the second the protagonist gets
cured.)

(Although I don't think anyone expected every
planet in the known universe to look like Vancouver.
But what the fuck.)

If the show concept is All About Flying Around In
A Fucking Spaceship, it's a ship show. If it's
not, then it ain't. Just because something has
four legs, don't mean it's a dog. Luckily, you
have me here to correct your thinking and elevate
you from the evolutionary shitpit you currently
wallow in.

Thank God for me.

this man is a fucking genius.

Dead and Breakfast

Jeremy and i were drunk last night after clara's graduation party, we stoped at KFC for a "Classic Bowl" holy fuck that is ungodly bad for you but oooooh so tasty. So when we got back to my house we were looking for a movie to watch and came up with this. The premise is this group of kids get stuck in this shit hole town and have to stay in this bed and breakfast, when one of the kids knocks over this box and it steals his soul, and he turns into a zombie. then when ever he puts a piece of some one in the box they become a zombie too. hillarity and gore insue. it's rad, if you like cheesy gorey movies, check it out.

Great Article on NHL.com

There is a great article debating the likeliness of any team 5-peating a stanley cup championship.

The life and death of peter sellers

I had heard good stuff about this movie so i decided to check it out. I thought it was ok. it wasn't great, but it was entertaining. I like geoffry rush, and i have always like peter sellers, even though i heard he was a jerk. I wanted to see more of him and stanely kubrick, but there wasn't that much of them, alot of blake edwards but since i have never seen any of the pink panther movies, it didn't really matter to me,( it's on my que for netflix).

over all it was ok, but i'm glad i didn't buy it.

Scoop

I wanted to see fucking miami vice but a friend of mine suggested that we see this instead so i acquesed. It was pretty good. I usually like woody allen movies and this was no different. he claims this will be his last comedy, and if so it's a good way to go out. Scarlet Johanson is sooo fucking hot it's unbelievable. If she were a president she'd be baberham Lincoln. anyway woody allen is funny as hell in this movie, it kinda go panned by critics but i liked it. it's no annie hall, but what is.

picture is coming soon.

This movie is a turd. Arthur walks around drunk all the time and it stinks. He is just some rich guy who walks around ny drunk with a stupid bultler that smarts off. He is the best part of the movie. How the hell did this become a hit? How did anyone make this movie. what ever. don't watch this movie.

V for vendetta. Viewing three

This movie gets better the more times I've seen it. The style might be heavy handed and the script dumbed down and actioned up. The point is still rad and proves that someone out there could still thumb their nose at the government and it still be ok.

This should be a stepping stone. Someone should take the batton and force feed some free thinking down americas mcdonalds swilling gullets.

Portland aint the same anmore.

I took a walk over to powells today after work. Its a nice day. Its pay day. And I could walk around powells or sit in traffic for about the same time. So on m walk over to powells I noticed that the area surrounding powells is hip and happenening. What a load of shit. All concrete and glass. Cowboy boots and polo shirts with dreadlocks. What a load of shit. Things change right under our nose and we just don't notice.

Man I'm getting old.

Mobile bitch session over.

Something Wicked This way Comes

Quick on the heels of watcher in the woods "sucess" comes Ray Bradbury's Something wicked this way comes the title is taken from macbeth btw. It's about two kids who find that the carnival isn't always a fun place. The "autumn people' run this carnival and if you wish for something deep down inside they give it to you, but at a price. The main badguy is played by jonathan price who plays the main character in Brazil, and the father is played by jason robards who has been in a hell of a lot of movies.

the picture uploading isn't working right now, but ill post a sick poster for this movie when it is.

Watcher in the woods

I am playing catchup alittle bit, i was gone to seattle for the weekend and have been fucking busy with work for the last couple weeks and am busy now, but i need to do this.

So Watcher in the Woods, was disneys foray into making something a little more grown up and appealing to the jaded kids of the 80's. and as such it's a little dated. but over all it's still kinda spooky up until the end with the dimesion hoping and shit, which i think is rad but i'm in the minority on that.

Bette Davis is cool too, she does a great job and it's not really her fault that the script doesn't explain much and is really vague about what the deal is with her.

3 out 5 dimension traveling beasts that got cut out of the movie cuz they looked silly.
